Friday Evening Walkabout

Work has been so blinkingly busy that the day just zips by me. There’s just so much to be done – the accreditation preparations; the phase 2 website and my regular responsibilities.

My time-warp workday goes like this - I go into the office, switch on my pc, and the next thing I know, its lunch. After lunch, I sit down; look at my pc, and then suddenly, it’s dark outside.

Scary huh?

I felt that I simply had to unwind myself from the tension at work. So I decided that on Friday evening, I’ll just go for a stroll downtown. Normally, I would avoid Orchard since it’s usually very crowded and I don’t quite like crowds that much now.

I know, it’s an oxymoron – to be unwinding in a place that would normally tense me up. Think it's probably because I haven't been downtown for so long.

So off I went with my camera after work. Took a bus, dropped at Takashimaya and worked my way slowly up to the Esplanade.

It was a good chance to test the new lens (Nikkor 24mm f/2.8) that I recently bought.

And walking down from Taka to the Esplanade is my way of starting my exercise regime again too - I'm a cautious man, better start slow and walk the 2.4 than to run it.

Anyway, here's one of the shots from that evening's walk. I'm still processing the rest - probably post it up later.

Yawn... eyes closing... time for bed.

Well, at least you get to do window shopping. Me? Nada. All I see are supermarkets, parks and libraries these days. But not complaining lah, this is just the life I have to get used to... :)
