One eyed Jack
We climbed up a hill.. ok.. they call it a knoll, but heck to me, its a bleedy TALL heap of dirt/rocks/soil.
The view from up there was spectacular. The whole area was laid out before us and we could see almost the entire mountain range. Got some pics but that will have to be posted later.
Anyway, the most irritating thing that could happen, happened.
I was simply cleaning my glasses when one of the lenses popped out. Turns out that my frame had been so corroded that it broke at the nose joint.
Thank goodness I had a spare but that was back in my accomodation. But first, I had to figure out how to get down that hill/knoll/TALL heap of dirt without falling over and tumbling down.
I had nothing I could use as a quick fix to hold the lens in place. So in the end, I literially became a one-eyed jack.
It's damn confusing trying to judge distance with one eye closed. I stumbled several times but managed to stay on the trail and make my way back to the vehicle.
So now, I'm sporting this pretty "retro" look with my standby pair of glasses from about 5 years ago. Good thing my eye's "degree" hasn't changed much.
Hopefully, nothing else will happen to this pair. I just need to tough out for just another 9 days!
PS: D & S, thanks for your comments and support for the previous post. I dunno... maybe I'm just getting into my "year-end" mood again. Things are pretty busy now, so I haven't really had the time to "think" that much. Sigh...
